AEW Double or Nothing Blackjack Battle Royale: Meet the 20 Competitors

This Sunday, All Elite Wrestling is hosting their fifth Double or Nothing pay-per-view. The card will feature several championship matches, among them a battle royale for the International Championship.

The opponents for Orange Cassidy in the Blackjack Battle Royale at Double or Nothing to defend his AEW International Championship have been announced. This was after the conclusion of the All-Atlantic Championship, which was retired and substituted with the International Championship at the beginning of this year.

Cassidy, having successfully defended his championship on Wednesday, will now put his International Championship up for grabs in a Blackjack Battle Royale. Twenty competitors have been revealed to challenge him, including The Butcher, The Blade, Bandido, Komander, Lee Moriarty, Big Bill, Ari Daivari, Tony Nese, Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta, Kip Sabain, Rey Fenix, Dustin Rhodes, Keith Lee, Juice Robinson, Jay White, Ricky Starks, Brian Cage, Swerve Strickland, and Penta El Zero M. Some of these men have attempted to take the International Championship from Cassidy before, but they are hoping for a different result this Sunday.

Competing in the battle royale, Cassidy is known to have the support of Taylor and Beretta of the Best Friends, depending on the tactic they employ. Alternatively, Strickland and Cage, Moriarty and Bill, Butcher and Blade, the Lucha Bros., White and Robinson, and Rhodes and Lee have often partnered up or come to each other’s rescue. Despite the fact that the fight requires all parties to fend for themselves, these men are likely to collaborate to take out their major opponents before turning against each other.

This match features not only allies but also rivals, with Lee and Rhodes having been in conflict with Strickland and Cage for a few weeks. Bullet Club Gold’s White and Robinson have been menacing Starks since White’s AEW debut in April. Cassidy, Beretta, and Taylor have faced the various men in this match as a group, duo, and individually. Adding to the mix, the Lucha Bros. – the current Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions – may be seeking more than just Cassidy’s International Championship in this match.

Orange Cassidy is the current AEW International Champion, having defended his title 20 times. His last defense against Kyle Fletcher has left him more fatigued than usual. The hostility between the men in the Blackjack Battle Royale could give Cassidy the edge he needs to remain champion. https://gamerant.com/aew-fight-forever-orange-cassidy-accuracy/

AEW Double or Nothing 2023 will be broadcast live from Paradise, Nevada on the evening of May 28th, 2023 at 8pm ET.
