Best Xbox Game Pass Games of 2022: Major New Feature Added

For Xbox Game Pass subscribers, one of the premier titles from 2022, A Plague Tale: Requiem, has just been upgraded with a 60 FPS performance mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Members of the service have access to a steady stream of new video games each month, with some third-party titles available right out of the box.

In October 2022, A Plague Tale: Requiem was added to the Xbox Game Pass library as a day one game and was highly praised as one of the best third-party games to join the service. It earned an 85 rating on Metacritic and had a positive reception. However, it lacked a 60 FPS performance mode until a new update was released by the development team, now providing this feature.

A Plague Tale: Requiem, previously running at 30 FPS on consoles, now offers gamers the ability to play it at 60 FPS with the latest update. Those users with a 120Hz display can even get up to 40 FPS. However, to maintain the higher frame rate, players will need to switch to the performance mode, which may lower the graphical settings. Alternatively, they can choose to play in resolution mode for improved visuals. All in all, console gamers can now experience smoother gameplay in one of the best games on Xbox Game Pass.

The latest update has come with enhancements for the PC version of A Plague Tale: Requiem, granting users more graphical options to enhance their experience. Additionally, the patch resolves some bugs on all platforms, though the Xbox Series S will not receive the 60 FPS performance mode. This update is currently available for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, with the cloud version for Nintendo Switch coming next week.

For the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, lots of recent video games give players the choice between quality and performance modes, with some even supporting 120 FPS gameplay. Unfortunately, at launch A Plague Tale: Requiem wasn’t one of these titles, so this update could be what it takes to draw gamers in. Other games like Gotham Knights and Redfall also don’t have performance modes available on consoles, although it is being said that Redfall will add 60 FPS support soon through a patch.

The game A Plague Tale: Requiem can now be played on various platforms such as PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
