Call of Duty Bunnyhopping Problem: A Comparison of Jump Shots in Multiple Games
A comparison between different Call of Duty games has demonstrated that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has an issue with bunnyhopping. While this technique has generally been a popular choice during firefights in the past, many have voiced their dissatisfaction with how it works in the current installment. An article on this subject can be found online.
Despite the release of Season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, there are still many fans of the game that are dissatisfied with its current state. Infinity Ward has been trying to improve the game experience by adding content and bringing back old weapons and maps, yet the studio has not been successful in winning over the community who had high expectations after the success of the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Questions remain as to whether or not the game will ever be able to reach the same level of success as the original.
Jump shooting/Bunny hopping comparison between BO1, MW3 and MWII

Reddit user Minddrill posted a video which compared Black Ops 1 from 2010, Modern Warfare 3 from 2011, and the 2022 version of Modern Warfare 2. The video demonstrated how bunnyhopping, or jumping while aiming down the sight, was now more efficient in the new game. In the previous titles, it completely stopped the player’s momentum which made it hard for opponents to confront. But in the new version, it hardly slows them down at all. This certainly speeds up the gameplay, but it seems much less troublesome for the other players.
The reaction to the situation was mixed in the thread. The Call of Duty community is made up of players with a wide range of experience, from those who have been playing the series for over 15 years to those who are experiencing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the first time. This makes the job of the developers difficult, as the expectations for a good Call of Duty game vary greatly between players. For instance, while some Call of Duty fans have expressed frustration about microtransactions, others may not be as bothered by it, especially if they have begun playing more recently.
Infinity Ward is still dedicated to bringing out updates for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and there is still enough time to persuade players. Currently, the title is approximately at the midpoint of its lifespan, with whispers that the Call of Duty 2023 version will be a continuation of the Modern Warfare franchise, so it looks like players of the game can anticipate content for a while.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 can now be found on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X/S.
