Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3: Peacemaker Cameo You Might Have Missed [GAMES]

Be aware that this post will reveal parts of the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, so proceed with caution.

James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 incorporated several cameos of friends and family. Nevertheless, Gunn just verified an Peacemaker cameo that viewers possibly overlooked.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is focused on the team’s quest to help Rocket Raccoon who is hurt badly by Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock. The movie features flashbacks to Rocket’s unhappy background, when he was the subject of study by the High Evolutionary, along with other animals.

In an admission that has recently surfaced, Bradley Cooper revealed that a particular character’s narrative in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 made him shed tears. Bradley Cooper Admits One Character’s Arc In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Made Him Cry

The movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 focuses on Lylla, Teefs, and Floor, however, it also features various caged animals. A fan asked director James Gunn on Twitter if one of these animals, an eagle, was a reference to Eagly, who is Peacemaker’s bald eagle companion in the DC vigilante series. Gunn confirmed that the animal was in fact Eagly, thereby creating a type of crossover between DC and Marvel.

For those who might have not seen Peacemaker, Eagly was the protector and companion of the titular character, often coming to their aid. Despite being a bald eagle, it showed a sense of understanding, providing solace to Peacemaker in their darkest moments. Although Gunn had initially intended to use a real bird of prey for the role, it did not handle the set well, leading him to enlist the Peacemaker VFX team to create a CGI eagle for the part.

Eagle’s cameo in the movie is not a crossover between Marvel and DC but rather an Easter egg from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The character’s appearance is more of a nod than a major role.

The animal characters in Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 were able to find refuge thanks to Rocket and the other members of the team, who helped them to flee the High Evolutionary’s ship and reach the secure destination of Knowwhere. While some viewers found the animal cruelty depicted in the movie too extreme, others applauded Gunn for his brave decision not to shy away from a weighty subject. PETA even gave Gunn and the movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 their recognition for the way it presented animal testing.

You can now watch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on the big screen, and catch Peacemaker on HBO Max.
