Smite Announces Big VTuber Collab: New Gaming Experience with Popular VTubers

The gaming industry is continuing to surprise us with Smite’s most recent partnership with VShojo, in which six new skins for well-known VTuber personalities will be introduced. Smite is certainly setting the bar for unexpected crossovers.

Hi-Rez’s extremely popular MOBA has been the source of some interesting and entertaining crossovers recently. The content of these crossovers has been quite diverse, from skins for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Magic: The Gathering and, as unbelievable as it may sound, even Smite had a collaboration with Slipknot (learn more here). The latest crossover just goes to show that it’s hard to guess what skins will come to the MOBA next.

Titan Forge Games has just revealed the launch trailer for six VTubers from VShojo skins coming to Smite, similar to the Idol Showdown game which allows players to use Hololive VTubers. The skins’ release date is set to be May 16th. Ironmouse, the most-subscribed English language VTuber on Twitch, will have her skin for the reworked mage Persephone.

For the collaboration, skins for five VShojo Vtubers–Nyanners, Silvervale, Kson, Apricot, and Vei–will be created for the characters Serqet, Skadi, Nemesis, Izanami, and Nu Wa respectively. It is noteworthy that Nyanners, Silvervale, and Vei have all left VShojo after allowing their contracts to expire recently. Smite acknowledges this in the announcement trailer, saying, “Whether they are with VShojo or taking a solo path, you will not want to miss the VShojo event.”

The newest gods to receive VTuber skins in this patch, Persephone and Serqet, have the fewest amount of skins compared to the other gods, with only 7 and 10 respectively. This is particularly concerning for Serqet, who has been in the game for almost 9 years now. In comparison, Janus and Nox, who were both introduced the same year as Serqet, have 15 skins each. It is no secret in the community that Titan Forge will seize any chance to add new skins for Neith, one of the best Smite Arena gods. Therefore, VShojo skins for these characters will likely be welcomed by players who use them.

Smite can now be played on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
