Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake – Disappointing Update for Gamers

Ubisoft has brought news regarding Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, but it’s unfortunately not as hopeful as fans would have liked. The game, which has been in the works for three years, has been plagued with issues, which has caused a delay in the release date.

At the Ubisoft Forward event in September 2020, the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake was revealed; however, the graphics were met with a great deal of criticism. The developers responded quickly and promised that the actual game would look much improved. Nostalgia for the original game gave players a huge boost of excitement. Unfortunately, the project was beset with several delays, rumors of it being stuck in a development limbo, and the transfer of development from Ubisoft Mumbai and Pune to Ubisoft Montreal. This caused an indefinite delay. Since then, Ubisoft has repeatedly assured fans that the game is not canceled; however, many are not content with the latest update.

It has been reported that pre-orders of the remake of Prince of Persia have been canceled and all customers will be refunded.

The Ubisoft website recently posted a Q&A with the game director and producer of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, Michael McIntyre and Jean-Francois Naud respectively. They gave an extensive update on the project’s progress, with the main point being that they are currently in the conception stage. Jean-Francois further explained that they had been gathering feedback from the community and formulating their own take on the game. He also noted that the team was being formed, priorities were being set, prototypes were being created, and elements were being tested to see how they can include community feedback in the development.

The team behind the remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time has confirmed that players won’t hear any news about the game this year. They went on to explain how important the game is to them and how they are treating it as a “remake” instead of a “remaster”. They also stated that the original game mechanics will remain, but will be tweaked to make it feel more balanced.

The course of Ubisoft’s journey changed drastically during the past year, canceling multiple projects so they could focus on the most essential ones. A current report also mentioned that the firm was placing a lot of trust in its Assassin’s Creed series, and planned to expand the number of teams working on different Assassin’s Creed titles by 40%. Players were glad to hear Ubisoft’s assurance regarding the Prince of Persia: Sand of Time Remake, grateful that the game is being given the consideration it deserves.

It has been announced that a remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is in the works.

It appears that Assassin’s Creed Mirage may be released before Prince of Persia, according to Gamerant. This could mean that it could beat out Prince of Persia to the punch.

Ubisoft has recently released an update on the remake of the classic game, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. They stated that the project is still in development and they are committed to providing fans with a remake that stays true to the original. They also want to ensure that the new game will have modern mechanics and visuals. Ubisoft declared that they are pushing the boundaries of their craft to create a remake worthy of the original title.
